Rene, aka "Red" DuPont has lived a full life already by the age of sixteen, experiencing terrible things a child should never experience. Red’s life changes in an instant one night, and a horrific twist of fate leads him down a confusing and yet hopeful path.
Red feels his life is finally moving in a positive direction; however things never stay that way, and after another devastating blow, he struggles to comprehend why bad things are still happening all around him, and why someone is trying to blame him. Things are spiraling out of control, yet at the same time he is learning more and more strange things about himself and his connection to the willow tree.
Danger is around the corner, and Red has the power to stop it, but can he do it in time?
